angelina jolie has proven herself once again as not only one of the best female action stars, but one of the top action movies stars... period!
the december 21st, 2010 dvd release of "salt" marks the latest in the line of action-filled thrillers in that jolie has starred in. tomb raider, mr. and mrs. smith, and wanted are just a handful of the other best angelina jolie movies in the action genre.
in salt, jolie tackles the role of an cia agent marked as a russian spy who must run for cover to save herself and her husband, and to clear her name.
the challenge for evelyn salt (jolie) is that she has a hard time figuring out which side she is on and who she can trust. essentially, she is a double-agent.
a plot to turn the world upside down by killing major political leaders and starting wars is under way and salt is either in charge of the plot or trying to stop it. the viewer does not truly know until near the end of the film.
while salt lacks some quality of plot depth, it possesses phenomenal action and jolie is the leading player in this area. she demonstrates strong fitness, incredible athleticism, and the ability to take on tough male counterparts.
salt is rated pg-13 for action and violence. if you are an action fan than this movie is likely right up your alley. if you are looking for a film that has a great story, you might explore the other selections at your local video store.
